Atlanta City Council passes police use of force reform resolutions

The Atlanta City Council passed a resolution to overhaul the city’s police policies in the wake of the Rayshard Brooks shooting death due to a procedural issue. The council originally sent this as an ordinance to Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, who vetoed it.

Judge orders Georgia governor, Atlanta mayor into mediation

A Fulton County Superior Court judge has ordered Gov. Brian Kemp and Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms to undergo mediation ahead of a scheduled hearing next week.
