Riverdale Raiders 'shine' with help from a familiar leader

For the first time in five years, the High 5 Sports Team of the Week comes from Clayton County. The Riverdale Raiders (6-1) are locked into a playoff spot with an undefeated 3-0 record in Region 3-AAAAA . Their only loss came to 3rd-ranked Carrollton in week three. After this week's game on the road at Whitewater, Riverdale finishes regular season play against Starr's Mill and Griffin, the only other teams with a shot at winning the region crown.

Grayson hands Shiloh first loss

The Grayson Rams restored order in Region 8-AAAAAAA with a 45-7 thrashing of previously undefeated Shiloh on a rare Thursday night game in Gwinnett County.

Game of the Week features 'Battle of Powder Springs'

They don't get much bigger than this week's High 5 Sports Game of the Week. The Battle of Powder Springs features two undefeated teams, Hillgrove (5-0) and McEeachern (5-0), opening region play at Walter Cantrell Stadium.  

Game of the Week features classic NW Georgia rematch

For the second week in a row, the High 5 Sports Game of the Week features undefeated teams facing off in rough-and-tumble Region 6-A. Last Friday the Bowdon Red Devils beat North Cobb Christian 27-21 to remain unblemished and in good position. Now it's the Christian Heritage Lions (4-0, 1-0 in region) and Darlington Tigers (5-0, 2-0 in region) duking it out to stay clean in the loss column.

Team of the Week: Forsyth Central Bulldogs

Frank Hepler accepted the Forsyth Central head coaching job the same year the Bulldogs moved up two classifications into Region 5-AAAAAAA. It took two-and-a-half seasons for Hepler's team to finally notch a region win, last week's nail biting 24-20 victory on the road at Raider Valley against North Forsyth.
