This week #BurgerswithBuck took a giant Buck Bite out of the Double Stack Cheeseburger at Ladybird Grove & Mess Hall along the Beltline in Atlanta’s Old Fourth Ward

Full disclosure, yours truly has probably eaten at Athens Pizza in Decatur more than 100 times. I’m not going to say that I’m set in my ways, but my order is always the same, a Greek salad and an Athens Special Pizza. I guess I subscribe to the ‘if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it’ philosophy. If you’ve never had it, I highly recommend it.

A fresh take on the classic steakhouse, that is how the good folks at Oak Steakhouse at Avalon in Alpharetta, describe themselves.

It’s time for the annual James Beard Foundation’s Blended Burger Project. It is an effort to make burgers that are “more delicious, nutritious, and sustainable.

It is one of the best deals in the 182-episode history of #BurgersWithBuck.

It’s a happening, new open container district in Atlanta’s historic West End that has been referred to by some as Malt Disney World. It is right next to the newly opened Westside Beltline, and joining Monday Night Brewing, ASW Distillery, Wild Heaven Brewing, Best End Brewpub, and Golda Kambucha, is Boxcar at Hop City...the restaurant heart of a zone devoted to entertainment. 

Whether you are a beer drinker or not, you are probably at least familiar with SweetWater Brewing Company. Believe it or not, the popular Atlanta-based brewery has been around for 22 years. 

There is a lot to do at Painted Pin in Buckhead.

Three words for you… Monkey. Gland. Sauce.

As the name implies, Hugo’s Oyster Bar in Roswell is a great place to go for fresh seafood. They have also become known for their classic New Orleans Po’ Boys, steaks, salads, and desserts... the notoriety of which is well deserved.

Gus Tselios is larger than life. When the owner of six Cobb County restaurants including Marietta Diner, Marietta Fish Market, Casa Grande, Yeero Village, Pasta Bella, and Cherokee Cattle Company does things, he does them in a big way. Case in point, #BurgersWithBuck #169 from CCC.

What started as basically a BBQ shack on the side of the road, is now a beautiful full service restaurant located on the shores of lovely Lake Oconee. Let’s face it, is there a better back drop for burger eating?

It’s Masters week: A time to cue up that eternal debate, no not who will slip on the green jacket on Sunday, but something people are much more passionate about . . .egg salad or pimento cheese?

Some burgers are hotter than others.

While the sign out front says established in 1922, and the windows below read established in 1927, once thing is certain, Atkins Park in Virginia Highland is Atlanta’s oldest, continuously licensed tavern. (There’s a great story behind the discrepancy between the sign and the windows, but you have to click on the story to hear Sandra Spoon tell it herself.)

The dining options are plentiful at State Farm Arena, not to mention better than ever. In fact, fans have ranked the food at the home of the Atlanta Hawks the best in the NBA.

Seven days of $7 burgers at 18 participating restaurants… it’s a shame Explore Gwinnett’s, Burgers and Brews Week only comes around once a year.
