New flu data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention shows Georgia is among the states being hit hardest this season, with health officials now classifying flu activity as “very high."

Atlanta police have identified the victims at a Virginia-Highland home on Cooledge Avenue as Kevin Stroner, a 13-year APD investigator, and Moriah Cardona. Authorities say Stroner died by suicide in his home, while Cardona was the victim of a homicide.
