Baskets at GHSA Championships placed incorrectly
The basketball goals at this weekend's GHSA State Basketball Championships were incorrectly placed for all of the championship games. GHSA Executive Director Gary Phillips confirmed to FOX 5 on Saturday night that the stanchions were placed about a foot farther away from the baseline than regulation. That means free throws were a foot longer and there was less room underneath the basket.

Lanier High School defensive lineman Derrick Brown, widely seen by recruiting services as the top senior high school football player in the state, committed to Auburn on Wednesday. Over 250 area athletes from all over High 5 Sports nation descended on the College Football Hall of Fame to talk about National Signing Day. Players were heading for Georgia, Georgia Tech and other area schools; but they were also planning to play at Harvard, Duke, Army, Navy and more around the country.
