Baskets at GHSA Championships placed incorrectly

The basketball goals at this weekend's GHSA State Basketball Championships were incorrectly placed for all of the championship games. GHSA Executive Director Gary Phillips confirmed to FOX 5 on Saturday night that the stanchions were placed about a foot farther away from the baseline than regulation.  That means free throws were a foot longer and there was less room underneath the basket.

High 5 Swimming & Diving Championships

The GHSA State Swimming and Diving meet wrapped up Saturday at Georgia Tech. In the 1A-5A classification, the Westminster boys and the Marist girls took home titles. In the 6A classification, the Brookwood boys and the Lambert girls won state titles.

Lanier High School's Derrick Brown picks Auburn

After much speculation, the state of Georgia's top player decided to head west to play college football. Lanier High School defensive lineman Derrick Brown, widely seen by recruiting services as the top senior high school football player in the state, committed to Auburn on Wednesday. He held a National Signing Day ceremony in his school's library.

Over 250 area athletes from all over High 5 Sports nation descended on the College Football Hall of Fame to talk about National Signing Day.
