Torched Hop Brewery on Ponce de Leon Avenue to close after New Year's Eve

A popular brewery on Atlanta's Ponce de Leon Avenue is shutting its doors for good at the end of the year.

Torch Hop Brewery announced the plans to close in an Instagram post on Tuesday morning.

Owners Chris and Stephen Bivins started the brewery in 2016 after graduating from Auburn University. Over the last eight years and eight months, the restaurant has served up its trademark IPAs and fun takes on burgers and other bar food.

"We are forever grateful to the team members who have put so much effort into making Torched Hop a special place. We are also thankful for the many regulars, friends and family members who have supported us on this journey. It’s not the fairy tale ending we had hoped for. But we have created memories that will last a lifetime," the owners wrote on Instagram.

The post did not give a reason for the decision to close.

The last day of business will be Dec. 31.
