Former Atlanta mayor Kasim Reed has filed paperwork that will allow him to officially begin accepting campaign contributions.
Fulton County DA Paul Howard decided to close a public integrity investigation of then Mayor Kasim Reed's family friend. The decision came during time period when city of Atlanta sent $250,000 in grant money to Howard's office. The majority of it was used to boost Howard's salary. Howard said there was no politics at play.
The state attorney general has filed criminal citations against the spokesperson for former Mayor Kasim Reed.
