Like It or Not: MARTA & I-85
Opinion piece by Lyle V. Harris When a section of I-85 melted right before our very eyes, plenty of people said it was, “like a scene out of a movie.”

Like It or Not: Homelessness
The kind of help that the people at this shelter need is not something that can be done by offering a sandwich in a drive by, and then taking a selfie for your Instagram page. Handing out sandwiches or pastries from the back of your car will make you feel good about yourself, as you drive away without commitment, but it actually causes more harm than help.

Like It or Not: Smoking Ban
Smoking is legal in Georgia, but even most smokers would admit it isn't good for them. Most wouldn't want their children to follow their example, and they've gotten used to laws that protect the public health by limiting where they can light up.

Like It or Not: Cannabis Oil
Some Georgia lawmakers are threatening to weaken a law that allows sick children and adults to ease their pain with cannabis oil, which is made from marijuana. Either those lawmakers aren’t listening to us, or they don’t care what we think.

Like It or Not: Amendment 3
Let’s consider the story behind Amendment 3, which is on next week’s general election ballot. If it passes, the amendment would abolish the independent, constitutionally protected agency that polices Georgia judges. It’s known as the JQC. The legislature would create a new JQC under its control.
