Alex Forbes
Alex is an AMS Certified Broadcast Meteorologist with the FOX 5 Storm Team. He grew up in Forsyth County, graduating from South Forsyth High School. During college, he was an intern with the FOX 5 Storm Team and returned as a meteorologist in June 2024.
After receiving his degree from Mississippi State University, Alex became a meteorologist at WMAZ-TV in Macon. While there, Alex covered numerous severe weather events, tornado outbreaks, and the ever-changing weather patterns that the Peach State faces.
Alex is an active member of the National Weather Association and American Meteorological Society, which is the organization that awarded the CBM designation after the passing of a rigorous test and a review of weathercasts.
Alex first became interested in weather in elementary school and has had some notable experiences in the field of meteorology. He’s been the eye of a major hurricane and yes, was in Atlanta for the meltdown that happened when it snowed in 2014.
