VIDEO: Dramatic rescue of man trapped in burning car

PEARLAND, Texas - A car bursts into flames on the side of a Texas highway with the driver still inside, but a group of witnesses immediately step in and pull the driver from harm’s way.

Police said a bystander got video of the heroic rescue.

The video shows the group quickly pulling the man from the wreckage while the car is engulfed in flames, and smoke billows into the air.

According to officers, the driver was already suffering from several broken bones from the crash.

The driver is being treated at a Houston hospital. 

Police said he’s lucky to be alive, and credit the rescuers for saving his life.
