Teen with chronic diseases helps other sick teens feel pretty while in the hospital

Fifteen-year-old Kristin Ryle has three chronic diseases and has spent much of her life in and out of hospitals. During her time getting diagnosed, she developed a love for makeup.

Now, she shares that love with other young girls in the hospital through Confections for a Cure.

It started as a bake sale to raise money for sick children three years ago, but after the sale was so successful, Kristin didn’t want to stop there.

She started creating, “Glam It Up” bags for patients with chronic diseases and cancer across the country.

Her bags include makeup, blankets, stuffed animals and other trinkets to give hospital stays a little more sparkle.

In the future, Kristin is hoping to expand her care packages to include patients struggling with their mental health as well.
