Teens breached security at the Tri Cities High School causing a scare Wednesday afternoon.

The East Point school was placed on lockdown for a short time as rumors spread that at least one of the teens had a weapon. A Fulton County School Security Official said that was not the case.

It all happened just at 2 p.m. during a transition period for one group of students to return from an adjacent building to the main building. That is how authorities believe four teens, who attend another school, were able to gain entry.

Dr. Shannon Flounnory said almost immediately, the four were confronted. Officials stopped one of the four while the others ran off.

That juvenile was detained on trespass charges.

Police said there were no weapons involved in the incident and no one was injured.
