School employee faces sex charge involving student
BREWTON, Ala. (AP) - A 38-year-old school employee in Alabama is charged with having sexual contact with a student younger than 19.
Al.com reports (http://bit.ly/2qCWPiU ) Jason Paul Blaney was arrested Friday. He was released on $10,000 bond the same day.
Blaney lives in Jay, Florida, and has been an employee of Escambia County schools in southern Alabama. It was not immediately clear whether he still works for the school district.
The spokeswoman for the Escambia County sheriff's office, Teri Tolbert, says a student and the student's parents filed a complaint against Blaney on March 30.
The sheriff's office did not release the name of the school where Blaney has worked. The office did not have a record to show whether Blaney is represented by an attorney.
