Power restored to those affected by power station explosion

ATLANTA - Georgia Power is investigating a power station explosion that knocked out power to over 6,000 customers in Downtown Atlanta.  The transfer station is located at Northside Drive and Joseph E. Boone. Traffic lights in the area are without power and causing traffic delays.

Georgia Power said that workers are on site and they believe this was an equipment malfunction.
