Police call it the “bump and rob.” Someone intentionally runs into your car, and when you stop, they rob you.

The latest victim is an Uber driver. Angela Arias said he picked up two passengers at an Ansley Park bar around 4:30 a.m. on Thursday. He said he was on Monroe Drive when he was rear-ended three times. He said armed crooks got out and robbed him and his passengers, stealing their wallets and phones. Investigators said the armed robbers drove off in a Black Mazda 6.

In May, police said they responded to a “bump and rob” involving three suspects in Marietta.

Investigators said it is an old crime that is making a comeback, and if you ever find yourself in the situation, call 911 immediately.
