Police: Scammers used son in Halloween robberies

TAMPA, Fla. - Tampa Police are searching for a couple that's targeting senior citizens, and getting the whole family in on the scam.

Police say the couple, using their young son as bait, started causing trouble on Halloween.

They asked to go into one couple's home while the young boy was trick-or-treating.

But while they were smiling and chatting with their victims, the wife became suspicious.

"When he was at the end of the dresser, I saw he had a handful of jewelry. My gold chain was hanging out of his hand and he shoved it in his pocket," she said. "You work so hard and then you got people like that just rob people, teaching their kid to rob people."

The family took off when confronted, but Tampa police say they've pulled the same crime on other senior victims.

Police are now searching for the crime crew.
