Police said parents of a 7-year-old who was shot in the hand have been arrested.

It happened at a home on Park Valley Drive. Police said the 7-year-old boy was playing with a loaded gun with another boy in the master bedroom of the home. Investigators said that gun went off and hit the boy. He was rushed to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston where he is expected to recover.

The other boy told police there were more firearms in the home. Police said he pointed out where each gun was stored. Investigators said since the guns were loaded and not stored properly with children in the home, they arrested the parents on reckless conduct charges.

Police said three guns were recovered including the one involved in the shooting.

The names of those involved have not yet been released.
