Members of Atlanta City Council look to create independent Office of Compliance

Members of the Atlanta City Council want an extra check in place to prevent any inappropriate or illegal activity at City Hall.

Over the past few months, City Hall has been rocked by scandal with top officials and vendors caught up in wrongdoing.

The majority of city council members have signed on to a plan to create an independent Office of Compliance.

It would handle and investigate tips about any possible inappropriate behavior of city officials.

The office would be overseen by a board whose nominees would be appointed by business people and civic leaders.
