Wednesday’s afternoon thunderstorms caused a headache for commuters who use MARTA along the Gold Line.

MARTA said a tree fell down on the track between the Chamblee and Brookhaven stations causing delays both north and south along the Gold Line. It happened shortly before 4:30 p.m. Officials said the tree fell along the rails near Reddington Road.

Officials said they are having to use a share a single track to travel both north and south which will cause delays.

The tree was cleared about an hour later, but delays persisted throughout the night.
