ATLANTA - A man was shot and killed inside a northeast Atlanta apartment complex early Thursday morning.
Police were called out to the 251 North Apartments just before 1 a.m. Arriving officers found a man shot inside a car.
The victim's car hit other vehicles, leading investigators to believe he was trying to escape when the gunman started shooting. The victim was hit in the back. Paramedics rushed him to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he died.
The victim's identity hasn't been released, but police said he appears to be either 20- or 21-years-old. Investigators aren't sure why he was in the gated complex, which is located a just south of North Avenue.
According to police the victim's drivers license doesn't show him living in the area.
Witnesses told detectives they heard an argument and then shots fired, followed by the vehicle crash, but no one saw the actual crime take place.
Police said the parking lot is poorly lit, making it harder for them to collect evidence. At least for now they have no motive of suspects.
