Man arrested after shooting at east Georgia gas station

HEPZIBAH, Ga. (AP) — Authorities say man has been arrested after a shooting at a gas station in east Georgia.

Local news media report that Richmond County Sheriff's Office says Jeremiah Griffin was arrested Saturday at the Sprint Gas Station. A deputy says he saw Griffin firing shots while people were in the area.

Authorities say the deputy fired a shot at Griffin before he ran away. Deputies searched the area and eventually found him before taking him into custody.

No injuries were reported.

Griffin is being held at the Charles B. Webster Detention Center. It's unclear if he has an attorney.
