A Houston area dentist has been accused of drugging and sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl.

Joshua Robbins, a local dentist, was suspended by the State Board of Dental Examiners after he allegedly confessed to his own counselor he had drugged a young girl and sexually assaulted her.

Local attorney, Jim Moriarty, who is representing the family in the case, said Robbins assaulted the daughter of one of his own close friends.

“The guy admitted criminal misconduct,” said Moriarty. “He admitted he knew it was a child, and they could identify who the child was.”

Moriarty said the Houston juvenile crime section as well as the Texas Board of Dental Examiners were notified by the counselor about ten days ago.

“Let me point out this guy is a pediatric dentist,” he said. “I mean it just freaks me out that people take two and three and 4-year-olds to the dentist and he’s somebody that would drug little girls while their moms and dads aren’t home so he can take sexual advantage of them.”

Officials were told  he confessed to going to his friend’s house while the parents were not home and to fixing the 16-year-old a drink using drugs from his dental clinic. He allegedly challenged her to a chugging contest and once the drugs kicked into her system, is when he told the counselor he took her to her bedroom and sexually assaulted her.

The family of the victim wants criminal charges filed against Robbins which have not yet been made however a lawsuit is pending.

We are told Robbins has been in practice for just under 10 years. We reached out to the district attorney’s office and they said no charges have been filed against Robbins at this time.

They are waiting to review police reports. We will get you new information on the case as it develops.
