High-speed police chase ends in crash
CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ga. - A driver took Cherokee County Sheriff deputies on a high speed chase, but ended up crashing alongside Interstate 575 Saturday night.
According to authorities, a Ford Mustang was driving 110 mph on I-575 northbound and refused to pull over.
The driver eventually exited the highway and hit a guardrail, about one mile from the interstate.
Deputies arrested the driver and they were taken to the hospital. The driver was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, speeding, fleeing, and attempting to allude.
An officer suffered a minor injury when his patrol car wrecked after getting out of his car at the end of the pursuit, according to the Cherokee County Sheriffs office.
The Mustang was listed as being stolen from Gainesville.
