The water crew was preparing to head out when they heard little cries coming from deep inside the truck.

Members got out to investigate the noise and ultimately knew they needed to call for backup. With help from Station 809 and Alley Cat Rescue, they managed to pull out four kittens-- no bigger than your palm-- lodged deep within the truck.

Pictures of the ‘purr-fect’ rescue were tweeted, one in particular showed a crew member bottling feeding one of the kitties.

So what happens to the babies now?

Alley Cat Rescue, a non-profit organization, will nurse the kittens until they are old enough for adoption.
