The Cobb County Fire Department is finding ways to save the lives of people trapped in a house fire.

The Cobb County Fire Department partnered with UL Fire Safety Research Institute to conduct live-fire experiments for its firefighters.

The department says it used a property purchased by the county for the simulations.

According to the fire chief, recent studies reveal the biggest contributor to limiting the spread of fires is to starve the fire of oxygen.

The fire chief says three people survived a house fire last Saturday because their bedroom doors were closed.
