It is intense and can be dangerous. Any officer who works in a jail or prison knows about the conditions.

In DeKalb county, citizens sitting on a grand jury said one detention officer assaulted an inmate after words were exchanged between the two.

And a key in considering the evidence is jail video.

On Thursday, indictments were returned against Stanci Clayton. On the surveillance tape, Clayton enters Marcus Blanton's cell and allegedly starts roughing him up.

When a female officer tries to come into the cell, the grand jury found Clayton struck her.

Harry Daniels, the inmate's attorney, said the officer erupted.

The sheriff's department dismissed Clayton. Blanton is suing DeKalb County in federal court in connection with the incident.
