Couple gets engaged at Atlanta's Big Peach Sizzler 10K
ATLANTA - Runners gathered Monday morning for the Big Peach Sizzler 10K in Atlanta. This Labor Day, the race was extra special for two participants.
FOX 5 News was there as runner Elvin O'neal II proposed to his girlfriend, Yewande Adeyemi.
"I was going to propose on her birthday back in October, but I kind of spoiled it," O'neal told FOX 5.
O'neal said he was on a run and asked God for guidance and that's when he knew he would propose at the end of a 10K.
"It's one of the many influences she's already put on my life," O'neal said. "Running and a healthier life style."
Adeyemi, an avid runner, said she was completely surprised and had no idea she'd be leaving the race engaged.
The Big Peach Sizzler kicked off at 7:30 a.m. Monday. The race supports a charity solely focused on raising funds and awareness for Cystic Fibrosis.
