Church members of Ben Hill Christian Church left Sunday service to find a horrific surprise: dozens of cars broken into, outside the church building.

"We got out of church. We found out, one by one, cars were broken into," said church member Annie Westbrook.

About 14 cars were found with glass shattered, doors damaged and glove boxes and consoles ransacked; members say items from electronics to cell phones were taken.

Atlanta Police officers documented the scene and dusted for fingerprints and evidence.

Members said this was the first time numerous cars have been targeted outside the church.

"It's no longer safe to worship on Sunday morning," said long-time member James Bunkley.

Leaders with Ben Hill Christian Church said to FOX 5 they plan to add more security outside church services.
