Card skimmer found inside Atlanta ATM

ATLANTA (FOX 5 Atlanta) - Atlanta Police are encouraging people to double check any credit or debit card readers they use.

This warning comes after police received reports of a card skimmer on an ATM inside a store on the 200 block of Peachtree Center Avenue.

According to officials, a customer was attempting to use the machine when he saw the cover of the card reader appeared to be loose. After examining the machine, he discovered the card skimmer.

Police pointed out the number 4 written on the inside of the skimmer, which could mean similar devices are still out there.

They say if you see anything suspicious, call police, and be sure to watch your accounts for unusual activity.
