It's a legal battle that's now going to the state's highest court.  Former DeKalb County CEO Burrell Ellis is fighting to clear his name.

The Georgia Supreme Court will hear arguments Monday in the appeal of Ellis. He was found guilty last summer on four counts of perjury and one count of attempted theft by extortion.

Ellis was sentenced to five years in prison, with 18 months to serve.  He was released from Coastal State Prison in March, ten months early.

Ellis, who has maintained his innocence, is challenging several areas, most regarding limits the judge placed on defense witness testimony and evidence Ellis wanted the jury to see.
