Belgians in the Atlanta gathered together Thursday night for a moment of silence for the victims of the Brussels attacks.

Officials with the Belgian Consulate and other European consulates in Atlanta attended the event, and invited numerous Belgian nationals to join in a show of solidarity.

The restaurant Bantam & Biddy volunteered their patio for the event. One of the owners had lived in Belgium and worked in well-known restaurants abroad.

Attendees hoped they could send a message to their homeland that they are standing with their country in the midst of tragedy.
