Atlanta Public Schools to start 12 days later in 2019

Students with Atlanta Public Schools will return to the classroom nearly two weeks later next school year.

School officials confirmed the change to FOX 5 News Tuesday afternoon.

Officials say the school system will push the start day for 2019 back 12 days.

It will stay that way for the next three years.

The school district says the move is in response to a survey of parents, staff, and stakeholders.
