Atlanta police appoints newest LGBT liaison
ATLANTA - Congratulations to Atlanta Police Department's newest LGBT Liaison!
Officer Acashia Lavigeour joins Officer Eric King as one of two LGBT Liaisons for the department. Officer Lavigeour joined APD in 2012, after graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. She has served in Zone 5 as well as the Criminal Investigations Division.
The department's lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender liaison officers work to improve communication and relationships with the community. They also train on LGBT issues and increase awareness.
