Active search continues for missing 79-year-old Pickens County doctor
PICKENS COUNTY, Ga. - Ben Thebaut, 79, went for a walk in the Sharp Mountain Preserve subdivision on Sunday afternoon, but never came home.
More than 50 officers are searching for Thebaut.
They are walking the trails in the area and using ATVs.
Thebaut’s family said the former doctor is in good physical shape, but suffers from dementia-like symptoms.
The Georgia Emergency Management Agency has organized a large number of trained Search and Rescue teams from all over the state of Georgia. They will begin their sweep after first light on Saturday.
