Conyers Police investigating a violent armed home invasion traced the suspects back to a sordid love triangle, with a woman at the center of the alleged plot.

"Essentially she set this all up," said Officer Kim Lucas of Conyers Police. They say Laurel Carithers, a 17 year old, was dating the victim and had been to his home.

"A teenage female he had met, had her over several times. She had been asking a lot of questions, [like] 'when are you going to be home,'" Lucas claimed.

Police say the suspects broke into the home on Ellis Drive and woke up the victim's brother, who was in the home with his girlfriend and young child. They say the brother and the suspects eventually exchanged fire. The suspects ran off with thousands of dollars worth of goods.

Officers say the lover had a hunch the girl he was seeing could be involved. Police went to her home in Lithonia and learned she was actually living with her boyfriend, Isaiah Dickerson,19, already wanted out of DeKalb County.

Investigators say they discovered stolen items in Dickerson's and Carithers' home and arrested the two, as well as Rontavious Cole and DeAngelo Banks, who are also wanted out of DeKalb County.

Dickerson and Banks are still in the DeKalb County jail and will eventually be transferred to Rockdale County. All the men will faces charges in Rockdale County for home invasion, aggravated assault and armed robbery.

Laurel Carithers is facing a charge of conspiracy to commit robbery. Police say there's no evidence she was actually there during the home invasion.
