20 charged in suspected gang activity

COBB COUNTY, Ga. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - A Cobb County Grand Jury handed down indictments in two major cases, netting 20 people being charged with crimes.

Prosecutors say the operation and charges stem from a month’s long investigation involving murder, financial crimes, aggravated assault, and numerous other crimes. At least 13 of the individuals indicted were already in custody in Cobb County.

County authorities say these arrests stem from two different gangs, both suspected offsets of the Bloods.

Authorities launched a special operation in the pre-dawn hours Friday, arresting some suspects in the field and conducting searches on suspects already in custody. At least six different agencies, including the FBI, were involved.

Additional arrests could be forthcoming, authorities say.
