Young archaeologists work to solve a Mayan mystery

The search is on for a priceless jade medallion, and right now at the Children’s Museum of Atlanta, young Indiana Joneses can come take a crack at solving an ancient Mayan mystery.

Mystery of the Mayan Medallion is the latest exhibit to take over the newly-remodeled museum, and will run through the end of May.  The premise is simple – an archeological team digging in Mexico is searching for a jade artifact, and needs help finishing the job.  That’s where young museum guests come in, collecting information at various stations dedicated to archeology and biology, in hopes of uncovering the rare treasure.  Kids will also explore the jungle and journey into a hidden tomb, learning all about science and history along the way.

Good Day Atlanta’s Paul Milliken spent the morning at the Children’s Museum of Atlanta, and couldn’t resist joining some young archeologists in hopes of finding the jade medallion on live TV!
