Resolution Week: Stress relief through salt and meditation

It’s Resolution Week on Good Day Atlanta, which means we’re busy looking for ways to help you reach those 2019 goals.  And if your most recent resolution includes lowering your stress level, a unique metro Atlanta facility says salt is the perfect ingredient in the recipe for a calmer year.

Good Day Atlanta’s Paul Milliken spent the morning at Intown Salt Room, which uses the idea of salt therapy to enhance breathing, relaxing, and meditation. The 1,000 square-foot space (on Memorial Drive in Atlanta, across the street from Historic Oakland Cemetery) is filled with 6,000 pounds of Himalayan salt, which many believe can help with stress, breathing problems like allergies and asthma, and skin conditions. Intown Salt Room offers both a dry salt Breathing room and a Meditation room (equipped with sound therapy) – and speaking of, Atlanta meditation coach and founder of The Pause Practice Tia Robinson is now offering guided meditation sessions at Intown Salt Room, aiming to help men and women reach a new level of peace and mindfulness in their lives.

Let’s be honest … if anyone needs some peace and quiet, it’s Good Day Atlanta’s Paul Milliken, who can be a little overzealous at times (putting it mildly)!  So he spent the morning at Intown Salt Room, learning more about the benefits of meditation and how it can help melt away that “new year stress.”
