Burgers with Buck: Stockyard Burgers and Bones

With menu items named the Oink-a-Moo, the Mother Clucker, the Kitchen Sink, the Angry Pig, and the Dirty South, you get a sense of the personality of Scott and Alexis Kinsey, the owners of Stockyard Burgers and Bones on the Marietta Square.

They like to have fun, and they love to put high quality ingredients together in creative ways.  Case in point, you'll find all of the burgers on the menu under the header 'Between Buns'.  And all of the burgers consist of Certified Angus Beef, and are served on a toasted Brioche H & F bun, but that is where the similarities end.

With a love for burgers and a love for traditional southern comfort food, the Dirty South was the obvious the choice for #BurgersWithBuck.

Why you ask?

Well, first of all it is served with bacon.  Always a good start for #BWB.  Then add Apple Butter BBQ Sauce for flavor, and it's starting to shape up into something intriguing.  But the ingredient that not only makes it unique, but puts it right over the top is the Smoked Gouda Macaroni and Cheese.

When I was just a young burger lover, it was not uncommon for me to add a heaping helping of macaroni and cheese to my freshly grilled back yard burger, so on a personal note this brings back some fond memories.

Stockyard has been thriving on the square for almost two years now, and they've already opened a second location in Vinings.

While you're there, if you happen to enjoy a Cowboy Caviar appetizer, #BWB would be curious to know how you liked it.  After a Dirty South Burger and an order of Stockyard Tots, there was just no room for lamb testicles served with jalapeño Remoulade.
