Burgers with Buck: El Super Pan

Some burgers are hotter than others.

It’s a true statement in both the literal and the figurative sense.

#BurgersWithBuck has now featured 173 burgers, mostly in and around metro Atlanta, and there have been a few that have had a kick to them, but this week’s featured burger takes bringing the heat to a whole new level.

Chef Hector Santiago of El Super Pan is one of a kind, and so is his special Friday offering, the Fire Burger. He describes it is “an All–American burger, that we set on fire”.

Before the beef goes through a double grind, the seeds from habanero peppers are ground into a powder. This powder is then ground right into the meat along with some other Caribbean seasonings to guarantee, as he puts it “a nice punch” with every bite. On top of that, there are two patties. Now if that’s not enough “Fire” for you, he also adds Ghost Pepper ketchup along with lettuce and cheese.

Listen, #BWB has always been a fan of spicy food, and the Fire Burger is no exception. It was very good, and it had a serious kick. If you like it hot, you owe it to yourself to give it a try. If not, you might want to order something else.

You’ve been warned!

Remember it’s only available on Fridays, at both locations, The Battery and Ponce City Market.
