Severe thunderstorms possible later Tuesday
ATLANTA - A line of strong to severe thunderstorms is possible late this afternoon and evening across metro Atlanta and much of north Georgia as a strong cold front moves in from the west. The timing of the line should have it moving through the metro area between 4 pm and 8 pm. If you live farther to east it will later in the evening between 8 p.m. and 11 p.m.
The greatest threat from these storms will come from damaging straight line winds that could reach up to 60 mph. Also frequent lightning and brief heavy rain can be expected.
Once the front moves through much drier air, and lower humidity will move in for the rest of the week beginning on Wednesday.
