PRIVATE SERVICE, PUBLIC VIEWING: About 20 relatives and close personal friends attended a private 20-minute service at a Santa Monica funeral home. Nancy Reagan's casket was then taken by motorcade to the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library northwest of Los Angeles for two days of public viewing.

FUNERAL: The funeral scheduled for Friday was planned to the smallest details by the former first lady herself. Before her death, she selected the flower arrangements, the music to be played by a Marine Corps band and the roughly 1,000 people to be invited. The hourlong service is to take place on the library's lawn.

BURIAL: Just as she was always by his side in life, Nancy Reagan will be laid to rest just inches from her husband, who died in 2004. The couple's hillside tomb faces west toward the Pacific Ocean.
