Toxic chemicals could be seeping into your life through every day items

Chemicals in common items you may encounter every day could be causing you harm.

POPCORN
PFAS, a group of man-made chemicals, are found in some microwave popcorn brands, according to the Center for Environmental Health.

Toxic chemicals actually enter the popcorn as it cooks. They can affect your immune system, infant birth weights, or put you at risk of cancer.

BEAUTY PRODUCTS
Phthalates are found in things like nail polish and hair spray.

The National Institutes of Health says inhaling or touching products that contain phthalates could have effects on human reproduction or development.

They can also increase the risk of diabetes for some women.

ANIMAL PRODUCTS
Some animal products like meat contain dioxins. The chemical has been found to effect reproductive and immune systems and cause cancer, according to the Environmental Working Group.

FRUITS
Atrazine could be found in your fruit. It’s an herbicide used on crops.

It has been linked to endocrine disruption, reproductive effects, and cancer, according to the Pesticide Action Network.

This is just the tip of the iceberg. Some clams, canned food, deodorant, and milk also have chemicals in them.
