Thousands of north Ga. students go back to school
A number of metro Atlanta students went back to school Monday morning.
Some of the districts that started include schools in Barrow, Cherokee, Cobb, Henry, Paulding and Pickens counties. Decatur city schools are also back in session.
Good Day Atlanta's Paul Milliken spent the morning at Lovinggood Middle School in Cobb County, which is Georgia's second largest district.
Cobb County Schools Superintendent said he wants the more than 112,000 students that attend the 114 schools in the district to be excited about the new school year. He also wants to make sure their parents are happy as well.
One of the ways the Cobb County school system is making students and staff feel safe is by being prepared. The district has created its own active shooter training video, which employees watched during pre-planning to understand what to do during a crisis.
