Two brothers were gunned down outside their mother’s Lovejoy home and the family said they don’t know why.

Marc Joseph, 35, died after his sister said he was shot ten times. His younger brother, Billy Johnson, was still in critical condition as of Thursday evening.

Marie said she wants answers in their death. She feels her brothers were targeted and she fears her family is in danger to the point she didn’t want FOX 5 News to use her last name.

“We have a lot of questions about who would do this and why. And we feel like they were targeted,” said Marie.

A bouquet of flowers sits outside the bullet-riddled home where someone gunned down Marc and Billy Joseph. The men were at their mother’s house, sitting outside talking, when someone walked up and opened fire.

Marie said both of her brothers are family men, both married with children.

“They do like everyone else, go do their 9 to 5, they come home and have a family to raise,” said Marie.

On October 30, that all changed. Marie said a car pulled up outside the house, and someone asked her brothers if they knew a certain individual. Her brothers said no and then driver drove off. But moments later, someone walked up on foot and started shooting.

Marie said Marc was shot ten time, Billy at least nine. She doesn’t know of any enemies they would have.

“If they knew they had an issue with somebody. I know my brothers. We’re all licensed to carry. They would not be sitting outside with nothing in their hands. No kind of protection what so ever, naked,” said Marie.

Marc didn’t survive the shooting. Billy, who is still in critical condition, does not yet know that his brother is dead.

“It was two innocent people. Their lives were corrupted for no reason. Whether it’s jealousy, I don’t know what it’s for or what it’s about, but if you don’t take anything for this, I want you to take what if it was your brother, you sister, something happened to them. You would want somebody to speak up. We need you to speak up,” said Marie.
