FULTON COUNTY, Ga. - Fulton County Police are making headway in the search for the driver who struck and killed a man at a MARTA bus stop on Old National Highway in South Fulton County during the overnight hours into Monday.
Fulton County Police Detective Melissa Parker said, "The SUV type vehicle ran up over the curb and ran over the victim."
Parker said the hit and run vehicle was found abandoned a short time later about four miles away on Godby Road.
Monday morning's incident was the second deadly hit and run on Old National Highway in a 24 hour period. Police responded to a similar incident Sunday morning near Old Jolly Road. A pedestrian crossing the road there was struck and killed. The suspect vehicle was recovered at Creel Park a short time later. The owner of the vehicle reported his van missing later that day.
