Someone has started a petition in hopes of getting Pope Francis to bless the D.C. area’s Metro system.

The pope arrived Tuesday afternoon for a three-day visit to the area. It is expected to snarl traffic so badly that transportation officials have suggested people take Metro to get around the District during the visit. Here is the text of the petition:

As of 2 p.m. Tuesday, the petition had nearly 600 supporters.
