Olens elected to leadership position in national group

ATLANTA (AP) — Georgia's attorney general has been elected to a leadership post in a national organization for attorneys general.

The office of Attorney General Sam Olens said Friday that Olens has been elected vice president of the National Association of Attorneys General. The group is made up of the 56 state and territorial attorneys general.

Olens' election came Thursday during the organization's meeting in Burlington, Vermont.

In addition to being vice president, Olens also will serve on several committees.

The organization also recognized Georgia Chief Deputy Attorney General Jeff Milsteen with its 2016 senior staff member of the year award.
