Ohio police seek info in burning of pit bull

A pit bull set on fire and abandoned over the weekend in Ohio is on the mend.

But police in Richland County are still seeking information on the person responsible for dousing a pit bull with lighter fluid, setting her on fire and leaving her to die on Amoy East Road.

A resident called the dog warden's office when the dog wandered onto his property and wouldn't leave.

The dog had severe burns on her face, head and stomach. Veterinarians say they spent two and half hours in surgery removing burned scar tissue.

The incident has the rescue group fighting for tougher animal abuse laws.
