Mysterious mashed potatoes popping up in Mississippi town

JACKSON, Ms. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - The town of Jackson, Mississippi is confused over a very starchy mystery.

Someone is leaving bowls of mashed potatos all around the town, and nobody is sure why it's happening.

Residents say they've shown up all over the place, including door steps, mail boxes, and on cars.

Nobody knows why it's happening, although all of the victims are apparently tied to a local university.

Plenty of people think it's just a harmless park, but other say they're concerned someone might be trying to poison local animals.

So far, police have not made any comments on the suspicious pototoes.
